You may be an extremely efficient person who gets things done as fast as possible. But if you carry on pushing yourself, you will soon run out of fuel and be too exhausted to enjoy your accomplishments. Your energy levels will wane, and the more you worry about it, the more fatigued you will feel. Constant tiredness can severely impact your quality of life.
Constant tiredness is overwhelming exhaustion – both physical and mental. Tiredness is worsened by even slight exertion such as walking up a few steps or just hanging up the laundry. If you are sleep deprived, your health can suffer adversely. Sleep is designed to re-energize you, physically and emotionally.
There are steps you can take to overcome lethargy and tiredness. First you need to find out if you have a medical problem. Have a physical exam and check if you have any conditions such as anaemia, arthritis, diabetes, or depression.
Once your have been given the medical all-clear, you will no doubt be encouraged to engage in some form of physical activity at least 3 times a week. Housework and walking to catch the bus do not count. You need to exercise for 20 minutes, three times a week, to increase your heart rate.
Exercise can have a dramatic effect on your wellbeing and your energy levels. You need to make time to exercise, just as you make time to clean your home, or go to work. Proper planning can help create a balanced lifestyle with lots of benefits.
Frequent eating of foods that are high in sugar and carbohydrates can cause a lack of energy. If you eat a lot of fast food, your body is not going to benefit in any way. Get into the habit of eating nutritious healthy foods that will recharge your body and mind.
Your diet should be balanced with fresh fruit, vegetables, lean meat, fish, grains and nuts. Check that you are getting enough magnesium, and take a multi vitamin supplement daily. You can beat constant tiredness with exercise, correct eating, and quality sleep.
